Baldwin Wallace University

Baldwin Wallace University Established in 1845 with a gift from John Baldwin of "five acre campus, 30 many villages and 50 acres of land," Baldwin Wallace is one of the first colleges admit students regardless of race or gender. In fact, the first graduates of the institution, Maria Poe, is female.

Since 1845, Baldwin Wallace University continues to pursue the dream of its founders to create equitable education for students as future leaders in the community later.

Baldwin Class University at first almost as many women and men. In addition, for students who are not able to offer a job to help cover the cost of tuition.

With the increasing number of German emigrants moved to Berea to work in the mines, the German department was created in Baldwin University to teach their children.

In the 1860s, Wallace College is growing rapidly.
In 1913, Baldwin Wallace College University and Germany joined forces to create a Baldwin-Wallace College. Combining the resources of both institutions and emerge as a stable financial institution.

In the mid-1970s, BW introduce graduate business programs and education, which now is one of the largest in Ohio.

In 2012, Baldwin-Wallace College officially became Baldwin Wallace University.
